Following an extensive restructure and investment programme, the Clinical Coding Department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust now has a dedicated data quality clinical coding team consisting of a number of highly experienced NHS Classifications Service approved trainers, auditors and in addition a TAP assessor.
As an NHS coding quality assurance team based within an acute Trust with over 60 years’ combined experience within senior and managerial roles, we are in the unique position of being able to provide a comprehensive and robust training and audit plan, not only within the department but to open up those courses and workshops, along with the auditor and assessor skills, to a wider audience.
